Our College

Since 1937, St Pius X College has been educating boys to grow into respectful, compassionate, and well-rounded young men.

We understand how boys learn. Our academic and pastoral programs are thoughtfully designed to support each student’s unique educational, spiritual, and emotional journey. Grounded in the Catholic faith and the Edmund Rice tradition, we foster a community where every student is known, valued, and encouraged to flourish.

St Pius X College is a Catholic school for boys in Years 5 to 12, welcoming students of diverse abilities and talents. Our approach to teaching and learning is informed by research into boys’ education, empowering students to become independent thinkers, collaborative contributors, and curious learners with a balanced perspective on life.

We nurture a love of learning and a commitment to personal excellence. Every aspect of the College experience is designed to be both comprehensive and cohesive, ensuring boys are supported to achieve their personal best, academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our safe and caring environment is underpinned by clear expectations and strong pastoral care. Through a wide range of programs and cocurricular opportunities, we promote resilience, confidence, and self-esteem. Academic achievement and effort are celebrated through a culture that affirms both success and personal growth.

At St Pius X College, we uphold values of courtesy, cooperation, responsibility, respect, and perseverance. These principles are reflected in a rich culture of recognition across academic and cocurricular pursuits.

As a non-selective school, the College is consistently recognised for strong HSC outcomes. Our focus remains on helping each student achieve his own goals, celebrating personal bests as much as outstanding results in academic, sporting, and cultural fields.

What do we stand for at St Pius X College?

The answer lies in part in our motto – Fide et Labore – Through Faith and Hard Work.

We are dedicated to our core values of respect, justice, opportunity and excellence. We demonstrate and foster respect for all, true acceptance of difference, social justice and an awareness of injustice. We speak up for indigenous reconciliation. We do not accept intolerance and pride but promote inclusion, acceptance, understanding and humility. We promote an acceptance of sexuality, strive for genuine gender equity, and we value learning.

We are no better than anyone else but we do strive to build a better world and make a positive difference. We pray that our actions exemplify our faith, values and beliefs. We ask that all our students go and serve others, make a positive difference in our world, work hard and keep the faith.

We aim for true respect and value for the dignity of all.

Our Prayer is to: Let all of us commit and refresh our determination to be the best we can. This means how we speak of, and to, each other, how we treat girls and women, how we respect and welcome all people including those with a disability and demonstrate our attitudes to all races, religions and beliefs.

We are an Inclusive Community that prioritises kindness, compassion and gratitude and promotes respect for each other’s uniqueness and celebrate their differences.
