Junior School Sport

The Junior School is a member of the Independant Primary School Heads of Australia (IPSHA). This involves competition against other schools such as all those that eventually separate into the ISA, CAS and GPS at a Senior level (St Patrick’s Strathfield, St Aloysius, Waverley, Cranbrook, Knox, Barker, Trinity, Kings, Newington Prep, St Ignatius, Scots, Grammar, Tudor House, Central Coast Grammar etc.)

Examples of sporting activities in which the boys may compete:

  • Athletics
  • Basketball
  • Cricket
  • Cross country
  • Rugby
  • Soccer
  • Softball
  • Swimming
  • Tennis

Games are played on Saturday morning. Our home grounds are at the Treacy Education Complex, Oxford Falls. Involvement in sport means 1-2 training sessions, one after school and one during school hours at Oxford Falls on a Thursday.

For boys who excel in sport, opportunities for selection at representative levels such as IPSHA, CIS (Combined Independent Schools) and PSSA (State) are available.

Every Thursday Years 5 and 6 travel by bus to the Treacy Centre, Oxford Falls from 11am to 2.30pm. The boys return in time for dismissal at 3.00pm. Depending on the time of year the boys have the opportunity to play in different sports. A learn to swim and water safety programme is also available during Term IV.
