Significant and relevant contributions to the life of the College in its fullest sense is expected by every member of the College. This benefits the whole SPX community, staff, students and families in that it enriches relationships and builds character, teamwork, skills, fitness, dedication and school spirit.
There is an expectation that all students are involved in a minimum of two terms of co-curricular activities. Commitment to any sport or activity also involves full participation in training sessions, rehearsals, games, carnivals or performances.
The Senior School is a member of the Independent Schools’ Association (ISA). There are numerous activities available such as
Competition games normally take place on Saturdays. The College home ground is at the Treacy Centre at Oxford Falls. Commitment to a sport means training after school two afternoons a week.
For boys who excel in sport, opportunities for selection at representative level including ISA, Combined Independent Schools (CIS), State and National levels are available.
Competition in the ISA involves schools including St Patrick’s Strathfield, SCECGS Redlands, Oakhill College, St Andrews Cathedral, Kinross Wolaroi, St Stanislaus, St Augustines Brookvale, St Spiridons and Chevalier College. Pre-season and social games also include competition against schools such as St Josephs College, St Ignatius College, Waverley College, St Aloysius, Barker, Knox, Kings, Grammar, Newington and many of the other independent schools in Sydney, depending upon the sport.
