The boys in the Junior School are encouraged to take part in cultural and sporting extra-curricular activities organised by the College. The Junior School is a member of the Junior School Heads of Australia Association (JSHAA). This involves competition against other schools such as St Patrick’s Strathfield, St Aloysius, Waverley, Cranbrook, Newington Prep, St Ignatius, Tudor House, Scots, Grammar, Trinity etc.
Examples of sporting activities in which the boys may compete:
Games are played on Saturday morning. Our home grounds are at the Treacy Centre, Oxford Falls. Involvement in sport means at least two training sessions, one after school and one during school hours at Oxford Falls on a Thursday.
For boys who excel in sport, opportunities for selection at representative levels such as JSHAA & CIS (Combined Independent Schools) are available.
Every Thursday Years 5 and 6 travel by bus to the Treacy Centre, Oxford Falls from 11am to 2.30pm. The boys return in time for dismissal at 3.00pm. Depending on the time of year the boys have the opportunity to play in different sports. A learn to swim and water safety programme is also available during Term IV.
Private tuition in various musical instruments is available, with possible induction into one of the many bands and musical groups in operation at the College. There are opportunities to join such activities as:
