Music Teacher - Years 5 - 12

Contract: Full-time permanent position
Commencing: 2019
Reporting to: Assistant Principal – Teaching and Learning

St Pius X College, Chatswood is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified teacher of Music commencing 2019.

The candidate will be familiar with current NSW Music syllabus and who will be able to demonstrate innovative and inventive approaches to teaching in order to engage and inspire boys in their learning. Involvement in the Performing Arts Cocurricular Program is essential. Capacity to teach Stage 6 Music is essential.

The successful applicant will:

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding and commitment to the Mission of the Catholic School;
  • Be supportive of the Edmund Rice ethos of the College;
  • Be characterised by a high standard of competency, professionalism, organisational proficiency and enthusiasm;
  • Have an ability to relate to boys and a practical knowledge of boys education issues and initiatives;
  • Be dynamic classroom teachers able to actively engage boys’ in their learning;
  • Possess sound ICT skills for both teaching and learning;
  • Have the ability to work collaboratively in the Performing Arts Department;
  • Participate actively in the cocurricular program of the College;
  • Have the ability to lead music ensemble groups.
